OUR TK OBJECTIVE

Our mission is to provide our clients with the most skilled and experienced Toyota Kata Coaches on the planet. Our job is to accelerate the start of our customers' Improvement Kata/Coaching Kata journey and enable them to continue effectively on their own.

Benchmarking Visits

DESCRIPTION:
W3 Group has developed strong working relationships with many clients. A number of these clients have been actively practicing and developing their TK (Toyota Kata ) skills and routines for years. They have also been gracious enough to offer benchmarking visits to their sites. These visits present rare opportunities to get up close and very personal to see exactly how the day-to-day TK routines are practiced both at the operator / process level as well as the senior leader / advance group level. We strive to provide 4-6 benchmark visits per year. Interest is typically very high and space is limited due to the personal attention given by the hosts. Our host companies have been very accommodating in terms of answering detailed questions about their journey, obstacles they faced along the way, and how they have adapted to make TK work in their facilities.

OBJECTIVES:
  • Provide companies the opportunity to closely observe improvement Kata and Coaching Kata routines as they are being practiced in real-world business environments
  • Allow participants to ask detailed questions about challenges and obstacles the host company faced as they embraced the Improvement Kata/Coaching Kata, as well as how they overcame those obstacles
  • Understand how an Advance Group works in order to support on-going practice and company wide deployment of the Improvement Kata
  • Get firsthand feedback from coaches, learners, and associates at the process level as to their perceptions of value and impact of using the Improvement Kata methodology

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Senior and mid-level managers who will be sponsoring the Improvement Kata deployment in their organizations, or directly involved in coaching or leading teams at the process level. Executive and senior leaders considering the Improvement Kata as a corporate-wide initiative for developing / reinforcing a culture of sustained continuous improvement.

Improvement Kata Experience

DESCRIPTION:
TK (Toyota Kata) is a brilliantly innovative management system that provides the means to achieve two equally important objectives:

  1. A methodology to achieve challenging objectives that are currently beyond a team’s ability to reach, and…
  2. Developing managers and leaders as coaches for creating a culture of continuous improvement, adaption, and innovation. This is done through simple, easy-to-teach, time-efficient, daily routines.

Based on Mike Rother’s award winning book, Toyota Kata, this 1-Day course provides a unique mix of theory and a hefty dose of hands-on practice. This intensive course provides a deep dive into two fundamental behavior patterns at the core of the TK methodology: the 5-Question Coaching Dialog and Rapid PDCA Cycles. Students gain direct insight into the power of these methods through repeated personal practice. At the heart of the training experience is a challenge that requires a high level of ingenuity and continuous improvement; on the spot and in real time. Small teams will be assembled at this event where they will work together and strive to achieve ever higher levels of performance using the TK methods, thereby gaining familiarity with those methods.

OBJECTIVES:
  • Provide an introduction to the core routines, mindset, and behavioral practices of Toyota Kata
  • Allow participants to experience the core routines of Toyota Kata through interactive exercises
  • Examine and explore how Toyota Kata is different from other management systems
  • Understand how leaders and managers can create a lasting culture of continuous improvement through simple, easy-to-use, and time efficient daily routines
  • Develop familiarity and a budding sense of confidence with two essential Toyota Kata methods; the 5-Question Coaching Dialogue and Rapid PDCA Cycles

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Senior managers, leaders and managers from all industries and businesses that have been on the Lean journey and / or interested in creating a sustainable culture of continuous improvement through use of the cutting edge management methodology of Toyota Kata. We have found that this training works extremely well with senior executive teams who want a “crash course” in Toyota Kata and can only afford one day of time. Feedback has been extremely positive from the many times we have conducted this for different senior teams.
